Few teams are on a roll like the Clark College men’s basketball team as the Northwest Athletic Conference season enters its homestretch.
Anthony Sprauer is a big reason the Penguins have now won eight of their last nine games.
The 6-foot-7 freshman from Tualatin, Ore., was named the NWAC men’s basketball athlete of the week after he tallied 34 points and 10 rebounds in a key 109-107 overtime win over Lane on Feb. 1.
That came three days after Sprauer posted a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) in a win over Chemeketa.
Sprauer has started all 22 games this season. His 6.5 rebounds per game is second on the team and he is averaging 11.0 points while shooting 59.6% from the field.

With six games left in the regular season, the Penguins are in a race with Umpqua (8-3), Portland (7-3) and Southwestern Oregon (6-4) for first place in the NWAC South. Umpqua is ineligible for postseason play.
