Nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 17 prep athlete of the week sponsored by Killer Burger

Athletes from Columbia River, La Center, Camas, Skyview and Hudson's Bay

Here are the nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 17 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

To avoid vote manipulation, participants are being asked to log-in with their Columbian.com account or to sign-up for a free account before casting a vote.

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the nominees:

GRACIE GLAVIN, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS BASKETBALL: The junior scored 13 and 25 points in two league wins to clinch the 2A Greater St. Helens League title.

PARKER MCKINNEY, LA CENTER BOYS BASKETBALL: The senior scored 14 and 23 points as the Wildcats capped league play with two wins.

MAYA RICHARDSON, CAMAS GYMNASTICS: Richardson won the all-around title (36.625) as well as the bars and beam at the 4A district meet.

JJ SCHOENLEIN, SKYVIEW BOYS WRESTLING: The senior won the 175-pound 4A district title with an 8-6 win over Simon Jarrell of Camas in a battle of top-ranked wrestlers.

SANAA TYLER, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS BOWLING: Tyler captured the 2A/1A individual state title with a six-game total of 1,145 (191 average).
