Cade Washington scored 17 points and Ethan Harris had 14 points as Camas rolled past Graham-Kapowsin 66-48 in a first-round game Wednesday in a 4A bi-district boys basketball tournament game at Camas.
Camas (18-4) will host Sumner (17-6) in a bi-district quarterfinal game scheduled for Friday.
Jace VanVoorhis added 11 points for the Papermakers, who led 35-22 at halftime and cruised to victory.
SUMNER 54, SKYVIEW 40 — Malakai Weimer scored 13 points and Ryan Hanson had 10 points as Sumner’s tough defense slowed down the Storm in a 4A bi-district first-round game in Sumner.
Skyview (14-8) will host Graham-Kapowsin on Friday in a loser-out game.
Sumner surged out to a 30-21 halftime lead, and the Storm could never quite chase the Spartans down in the second half.
“Credit to Sumner as their defensive pressure didn’t allow us to get our offense on track,” Skyview coach Matt Gruhler said. “We had some shots early that didn’t fall, and then the pressure built and we didn’t quite respond like we wanted to.”
EMERALD RIDGE 71, UNION 54 — The Titans fell into a big hole early from which they could not dig themselves out, falling in a 4A bi-district first-round game in Puyallup.
The host Jaguars led 23-8 after one quarter and 42-19 at halftime. Behind 12 points from Nick Burchett in the third quarter, the Titans were able to cut the deficit 51-39 after three quarters but that was as close as they would get.
Drew Hill led Union with 18 points and Burchett had 16.
The Titans will host Mount Rainier in a loser-out game scheduled for Friday.
BELLARMINE 61, EVERGREEN 38 — Dez Daniel drew two fouls in the first four minutes of the game as the Plainsmen got off to a very bad start in a first-round loss in the 3A bi-district tournament.
Evergreen (8-13) will play at Todd Beamer in a loser-out game Friday.
Bellarmine jumped out to a 15-1 lead after one quarter and led 25-10 at halftime.
Daniel, who would eventually foul out, scored 12 points to lead the Plainsmen. Hudson Nellis had 11 points and Kai Speer had 10 points.
W.F. WEST 80, HOCKINSON 67 — The Hawks had their season ended with a district play-in loss in Chehalis. No other details were reported.
KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 65, MONTESANO 50 — Jackson Lovato scored 22 points to lead three Knights in double figures as King’s Way Christian knocked off the No. 1 seed from the 1A Evergreen Conference.
King’s Way Christian (14-8) will play at Fort Vancouver on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in the district semifinals.
Radley Matson-Blighton added 16 points and Patrick Carney had eight of his 17 points in a decisive fourth quarter for the Knights.
The Knights took a 45-40 lead into the fourth quarter before pulling away.
COLUMBIA ADVENTIST 68, TAHOLAH 51 — The Kodiaks advanced to the 1B district semifinals with a win. Columbia Adventist will face Ocosta in a district semifinal on Monday at Adna High School.
