Sophie Buzzard scored a game-high 25 points as the Camas girls basketball team got the early jump on Kentwood en route to 67-57 win in a 4A bi-district first-round game Wednesday at Camas.
The Papermakers will host Olympia or Skyview on Saturday in the quarterfinals.
Camas jumped out to a 37-19 lead by halftime, then fended off Kentwood in the second half.
Buzzard made 10 of 14 field goals, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range. She also added four assists and six rebounds.
Lauren Hood had 11 points and eight assists, while Keirra Thompson had 10 points, four assists and three steals.
SETON CATHOLIC 65, CASTLE ROCK 12 — Madison Lee scored 13 points to lead a balanced scoring attack by the Cougars in a first-round win in the 1A district tournament.
Seton Catholic (16-6) advances to host Hoquiam in the district semifinals on Tuesday. Castle Rock (9-13) will play at Columbia-White Salmon in a loser-out game Tuesday.
Riley Seymer, Emma Whitehouse both scored eight points for Seton, and Remy Jenniges had seven.
KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 61, ELMA 25 — Addison Bagley had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead King’s Way Christian to a first-round win in the 1A district tournament.
The Knights (15-4) will play at Montesano on Tuesday in a district semifinal.
Alana Poe had 10 points and six rebounds for King’s Way, and Bridget Quinn added nine points, eight assists and five rebounds.
MONTESANO 74, KALAMA 40 — Kalama hit the road battling illness, and that’s not the best recipe for battling Montesano.
The Bulldogs took advantage of 28 Chinook turnovers to breeze in a 1A district first-round game at Montesano.
Kalama (12-9) will play at Elma on Tuesday in a loser-out game.
Aubrey Doerty led Kalama with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Hannah Johnson added six points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Sienna DiCristina scored seven points, and Bridgette Hollifield added five assists and five rebounds.
