The Clark County Commission on Aging will host a discussion on improving access to healthy foods at its next meeting at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
The commission is focusing on Chapter 2 of the county’s Aging Readiness Plan, Healthy Communities, Improving Access to Healthy Food, by hosting area experts for a discussion about local gardening and food programs. Representatives from the Clark County and North Clark County food banks, Vancouver, the Eat Well Camas Community Garden and FVRLibraries will provide information and answer questions. The meeting is open to the public.
The commission provides leadership in addressing the special needs of the county’s aging population and assists with implementation of the readiness plan.
Commission on Aging meetings are currently held in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual participation options, in the sixth-floor training room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver.
