Trey Knight continues to rack up accolades from his stellar start to the 2025 track and field season.

The senior from Ridgefield is one of 10 athletes named to the Bowerman mid-indoor season watch list. He’s the first athlete in Cal State Northridge history to be officially in the running for the award, which recognizes the nation’s top collegiate track and field athlete.

The award, which will be announced in December, considers performances from both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

So far this indoor season, Knight has posted the third-best mark in the weight throw in NCAA history. His toss of 81 feet, 7.25 inches on Jan. 24 is also the eighth-best in world history.

Knight will next be in action at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships Feb. 21-22 in Spokane.

Knight is the favorite to win the event at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, where he placed second last year. That meet will be March 14-15 at Virginia Beach, Va.
