Girls basketball: Cameron Watson, Lainey Phillips lead Skyview to loser-out win over Kentwood

Cameron Watson scored 14 points and Lainey Phillips and seven of her 11 points during a key second quarter as the Skyview girls basketball team beat Kentwood 46-34 in a loser-out game Monday in the 4A bi-district tournament.

Skyview (9-14) will play at Sumner (20-4) on Wednesday in another loser-out game.

The Storm outscored Kentwood 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 24-14 lead.

Watson added nine points in the third quarter as the Storm maintained their lead.

RIDGEFIELD 57, TUMWATER 50 — The Spudders hit three big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to pull away late in a loser-out game in Centralia.

Ridgefield will play Black Hills at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgefield in a winner-to-state game.

MARK MORRIS 48, WASHOUGAL 30 — The Monarchs rebounded from a slow start to beat Washougal in a 2A district loser-out game at Mark Morris.

The Monarchs led 24-13 at halftime, and their lead was never really threatened in the second half.

Mark Morris will play Woodland on Wednesday in a winner-to-state game at Ridgefield.
