WENATCHEE — A 48-year-old Wenatchee man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say he threw Molotov cocktails at a trailer.

The caller told police that her ex-boyfriend was throwing gas bombs and destroying her trailer, which is located on the same property behind the Jackson’s home, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Chelan County Superior Court.

The Wenatchee Police Department responded at 12:53 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Mission Street where Eric V. Jackson was reportedly throwing the Molotov cocktails.

Her boyfriend was working on a shed deck on the property when he was struck by a mason jar that had a burnt fuse at the end, splashing what he believed to be gasoline, the affidavit said.

Police say the boyfriend tried to confront Jackson when he threw a Molotov cocktail toward him. According to the affidavit, Jackson accused the man of stealing his wallet.

After police arrived two people were still in the trailer and were ordered to leave the trailer for their safety. Neither were injured.

When Jackson was confronted by authorities, they say he told them he “wasn’t trying to hurt anyone,” but that his intent was to burn the trailer down since he didn’t want them there.

Jackson was arrested and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of two counts of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and first-degree arson.
