The Clark County Historical Cemetery Foundation, incorporated in 2024, serves as a professional organization for the management, promotion, funding and preservation of pioneer and historical cemeteries in Clark County.

The first board of directors elected to serve includes Joey Fuerstenberg, certified memorialist, president; Mike Tribe, caretaker of Fourth Plain (Sifton) Pioneer Cemetery, treasurer; Tanaka Axberg, Clark County Genealogical Society, secretary; and Tena Tate, health care representative.

The foundation has identified 18 burial locations in Clark County as being within the vision and purpose of the Clark County Historical Cemetery Foundation. These cemeteries are maintained by volunteers or abandoned, including burial sites and graves located on private properties.

“I represent one of those [pioneer] cemeteries, and it is always a struggle for our cemetery to ensure that it has the necessary funds and volunteer support to remain well-kept and viable,” Tribe said.
