RIDGEFIELD – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to city of Ridgefield for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2023.
Judges said the report meets the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the city’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
City Manager Steve Stuart commended Finance Director Kirk Johnson and his team for their work, stating, “For 10 consecutive years, this award has highlighted Ridgefield’s dedication to transparency and accountability. This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to fostering economic stability and ensuring our city is prepared to meet the evolving needs of our community.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
