People who call 911 can be connected with urgent care, telehealth or transportation

Over the past 18 months, Clark County’s nurse navigator program has spared people from hundreds of unnecessary ambulance rides — and the costs of those rides, according to officials.

The program launched in May 2023. Since then, Clark County’s 911 dispatch center routed nearly 800 nonurgent medical calls to a Texas-based call center, where nurses help connect people with medical services other than the hospital.
