Letter: Something’s wrong here

Recent abhorrent crimes of murdering innocent citizens seem to appear on TV weekly. Apart from gasping at the occurrences, one might wonder how it is that we are no longer safe on the streets of our country.

We could start by asking, is it defunding the police? Is catch-and-release with no bail that allows and encourages repeated crimes? Is it that sleeper cells exist because our southern border is wide open? Are there other causes? How did we even get to this point?

This obviously can’t go on if we are to maintain freedom to congregate in public. So what is the solution? Logically it would be to identify the causes as I’ve iterated, and then seek solutions. However, is it those in charge are oblivious to the dilemma and harbor some hideous motivation that prohibits them from seeking solutions?

The massacre in New Orleans is linked to the Islamic State. How is it they’re able to operate freely? Is because Brian Thompson’s killer, Luigi Mangione, is handsome, some people aggrandize and accept his psychopathic behavior? How insane is that?

Something went haywire in the last few years and hopefully the new guy in town will do something about it.
