Letter: Terrible transition

The Columbian printed a Nov. 30 opinion column, “Americans back Trump’s picks,” by Joe Battenfeld. He states that six in 10 adult Americans approve of the way Trump is handling his transition, citing a CBS/YouGov poll. I guess I missed that poll, since I don’t watch CBS and didn’t hear about the YouGov poll. The only thing I agree with Trump about is the mass deportation of the people who sneak into our country. And now he wants to buy Canada, Greenland and another country with our money. I guess we should be glad he wants to purchase countries instead of trying to take them by force like Hitler and Putin did.

His appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services is a joke. Kennedy has no medical background and is against vaccines. With him leading the department, a lot of Americans will either die of illnesses or be maimed for life. I’m sure his dad and uncle, John F. Kennedy, are turning over in their graves knowing this. Remember JFK’s quote: “Don’t ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
