Prep Roundup: Madison Ingham scores 28 to lead Ridgefield girls basketball over Washougal

Madison Ingham scored 28 points as Ridgefield girls basketball topped Washougal 61-56 for a 2A Greater St. Helens League road win Wednesday.

A sophomore guard, Ingham made four 3-pointers and was just two points shy of her season high Dec. 21 against Hockinson.

Josie Hicks made five 3-pointers and scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half for Ridgefield (2-9, 2-3).

Addi Gibbons scored 16 points while Riley Vaughan and Teja Slyter each added 10 points for Washougal (3-5, 2-2). Twelve of the Panthers’ 20 field goals were 3-pointers.

Girls Basketball

MOUNTAIN VIEW 62, HERITAGE 33 — Sveva Bernasconi scored 22 points as the fast-starting Thunder earned a 3A GSHL road win.

Mountain View led 22-1 after the first quarter and 39-5 at halftime.

Camaria Brown scored 13 points and Amaya Paschal added 11 points for the Thunder (6-6, 1-0).

Jaila Ellis scored 17 points to lead Heritage (4-7, 0-8).

COLUMBIA RIVER 76, HUDSON’S BAY 5 — Mikayla King scored 21 points in a 2A GSHL blowout for the Rapids (10-1, 5-0).

MARK MORRIS 67, HOCKINSON 13 — Reese Johnston scored 18 points as the Monarchs cruised to a 2A GSHL road win.

Kadence Gorans had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Mark Morris (6-4, 3-2).

Lyla Taylor scored 11 points for Hockinson (1-9, 1-4).

WOODLAND 66, R.A. LONG 37 — Sophomore post Kennedy Bockert had 27 points and 20 rebounds as the Beavers rolled to a 2A GSHL home win.

Bockert had 13 points in the third quarter as Woodland outscored the Lumberjills 27-11 to take a 49-26 lead.

Addi Stading added 11 points for Woodland (8-3, 4-0).

Briana Garwood scored 15 points for R.A. Long (4-6, 2-3).

LA CENTER 47, STEVENSON 43 — Riley Schultz score nine of her game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats held on for a 1A Trico League road win.

Paige Sherry had seven of her 12 points in the third quarter as La Center (5-4, 2-1) outscored Stevenson 14-6 to take a 35-31 lead.

Aria Obias scored 13 points and Dani Wallace added 10 points for the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-2).

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 54, KALAMA 42 — Kallan Sharp scored 16 points and the Knights clamped down in the third quarter for a 1A Trico League home win.

King’s Way (5-2, 2-1) outscored the Chinooks 15-4 in the third to take a 44-27 lead.

Addison Bagley added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Knights. Bridget Quinn had 11 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.

Rylie Cadigan and Aubrey Doerty each scored 14 points for Kalama (3-5, 2-1).

Boys Basketball

MOUNTAIN VIEW 65, HERITAGE 57 — The Thunder overcame a slow start to open the 3A Greater St. Helens League play with a road win.

Trailing 15-9 after the first quarter, Mountain View surged ahead in the second half.

Malcolm Weatherspoon scored eight of his 14 points in the third quarter as the Thunder outscored Heritage 18-9 to lead 47-41.

Luke Swerdlik also scored 14 points and Trey Johnson added 12 points for Mountain View (8-4, 1-0).

Brooks Greenwald scored 20 points and Tyrell Cash added 14 points for Heritage (4-8, 0-1).
