This is not the normal anti-personal fireworks in Battle Ground letter.
I could write about the explosions without displays that occur before and after the appointed time. One happened this morning. Each is a violation of state and possibly federal law. But, nobody is looking for these people.
I could write about people dealing with agitated pets. Or vets with post-traumatic stress disorder.
I could personalize it. I go to bed at 10:30 every night, including New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July. This year, my neighbor decided to start setting off his fireworks at 11 p.m. I laid in bed for almost two hours and tensed up with each explosion, which occurred just a few feet from my house.
The squeaky wheels go to the council meetings and cry about having to make money from the misery that they cause to so many in our neighborhood. I support many charities, but never one of them.
