Letter: Halt giveaways to developers

By Michael Piper, Vancouver
Published: January 15, 2025, 6:00am

Come on, city of Vancouver. Do we have to go here again? Your proposal for a 10-year tax deferral for developers building affordable housing units on parking lots is a joke. You are so out of touch; $63,000 annual income to qualify for a single person is ridiculous.

This is nothing more than a giveaway to developers. Aren’t they doing well enough already? And by the way, how much of the city deficit is related to the giveaways for the waterfront? Tell us, please.
