A 45-year-old woman remains in critical condition at a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle Saturday in Battle Ground.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the suspected hit-and-run, which occurred in the 3300 block of West Main Street, according to a Wednesday update from the Battle Ground Police Department.

Police believe the vehicle that struck the woman is a Chevrolet Silverado truck, model 2500 or 3500, of unknown color, likely with damage to its passenger-side mirror, according to a news release from the department.

Police officers arrived on the scene about 9 a.m. after a motorist called 911 to report a person lying in the north-side lane. They determined the pedestrian was struck sometime before 8 a.m. while walking on the north side of West Main Street, heading west, near the entrance of the former VCA Animal Hospital office, the news release states.

Authorities said they are not releasing the pedestrian’s identity.

The Battle Ground Police Department encourages anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the case to contact Detective Ethan Poki at 360-342-5244. Tips can also be provided anonymously.
