Battle Ground police arrested a Woodland man in connection with a Jan. 11 suspected hit-and-run that left a woman in critical condition.
Investigators received tips that they said pointed them to a house in Woodland where they arrested Clarence “Butch” Holt II, 59. They booked him into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in injury, according to a police news release.
Police said they also located a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 truck at the Woodland house that they believe was involved in the crash.
The victim, a 45-year-old woman, remained in critical condition Thursday, the police department said. Authorities are not releasing her identity.
Officers arrived on the scene in the 3300 block of West Main Street about 9 a.m. after a motorist called 911 to report a person lying in the north-side lane. They determined the pedestrian was struck sometime before 8 a.m. while walking on the north side of West Main Street, heading west, near the entrance of the former VCA Animal Hospital office, the news release states.
“We are grateful to the public for their help in sending in tips and sharing information about this case on social media,” Battle Ground Police Chief Dennis Flynn said in the news release. “Without their help, and assistance we received from the Woodland Police Department, this case would not have been solved so quickly. We hope this arrest brings a sense of justice to the victim and her family.”
