Letter: Local organizations do good work

We were pleased to see coverage of The Foundation’s work in “Prison-to-homelessness pipeline: Clark County’s housing costs push those leaving prison onto the streets, increasing recidivism: Clark County’s housing costs push those leaving prison onto the streets, increasing recidivism” (The Columbian, Jan. 8). The Foundation is a wonderful organization that we’re proud to partner with at WorkSource.

Helping those who are transitioning out of incarceration is a noble goal and the Foundation is doing incredible work to help justice-involved individuals move forward. But it takes a village to uplift those who need it most.

WorkSource also has resources that can assist individuals in their transition. We offer resume reviews, mock interview practice, career guidance, workshops, and more. All our services are free, and language assistance is available upon request.

Justice-involved customers may be eligible for free job training, which can position them to enter an in-demand career with growth potential. Because reentry into the workforce comes with several barriers, we can also provide support services such as bus vouchers, tools for the job, interview or work clothing, and more. The goal is always to help our customers find quality employment and keep it.

Thank you for publishing this excellent story on a local organization doing great work.
