Nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 14 prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger

Athletes from Mountain View, Camas, Union, Columbia River and Skyview

Here are the nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 14 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

To avoid vote manipulation, participants are being asked to log-in with their Columbian.com account or to sign-up for a free account before casting a vote.

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the nominees:

SVEVA BERNASCONI, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL: The senior scored 33 points in a 66-53 win over Prairie as the Thunder improved to 4-0 in 3A GSHL play.

KANNON FRESCHETTE, CAMAS BOYS WRESTLING: The sophomore beat a two-time state champion in the 190-pound finals at the Clark County Championships.

GABRIELLA HOWARD, UNION GYMNASTICS: Howard scored 37.25 to win the all-around competition in a meet with Camas and Columbia River.

JERSEY O’NEILL, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS WRESTLING: The senior earned her second consecutive title at the Clark County Championships, winning the 110-pound crown.

MALAKAI WEIMER, SKYVIEW BOYS BASKETBALL: The junior had a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) and hit the winning free throws in a 51-49 win over Union.
