Prep Basketball Roundup: Seton Catholic boys win key Trico League clash over Fort Vancouver

Union, Camas girls both earn lopsided wins

Seton Catholic boys basketball extended its lead in the Class 1A Trico League with a 77-61 win over second-place Fort Vancouver on Saturday.

Brady Angelo and Kaiden Wilson each scored 19 points to lead a balanced attack for Seton Catholic (8-5, 7-0). Tyler Tran, Mason Glassmire and Rico George each added 10 points.

The Cougars took charge with a 31-point second quarter, extending a 16-10 lead to 47-29.

Leighton Livengood scored 23 points to lead Fort Vancouver (11-4, 6-2). The Trappers had won six games in a row.

LA CENTER 75, CASTLE ROCK 35 — Logan Rainey scored 20 points, Sharp Young added 16 points and the Wildcats (9-5, 5-3) hit eight 3-pointers in a 1A Trico League home win.

KALAMA 67, STEVENSON 52 — Gavin McBride scored 26 points as the Chinooks earned a 1A Trico League win on the road.

Quinn Hahn scored 15 points and Abel Koski added 13 points for Kalama (8-5, 4-4).

Jude Travinski scored 24 points to lead Stevenson (2-12, 1-7).

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 69, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 58 — Jackson Lovato scored 26 points and the Knights used a fast start to earn a 1A Trico League road win.

Radley Matson-Blighton added 19 points and King’s Way (9-5, 2-5) led 23-10 after the first quarter.

Mason Hamilton scored 35 points for Columbia-White Salmon (6-6, 2-6).

MOUNTAIN VIEW 56, BAKER (Ore.) 52 — Jack Fournier scored seven of his 15 points in the fourth quarter as the Thunder held on for a home win.

Mountain View (12-4) made 6 of 9 free throws in the final quarter, which began with the Thunder trailing 41-38.

Baker, a Class 4A team from northeastern Oregon, made seven 3-pointers and fell to 9-8.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

UNION 84, BETHEL 58 — Brooklynn Haywood scored 38 points as the Titans rolled to a non-league home win.

Heywood had seven of Union’s 12 3-pointers. Jalise Chatman scored nine of her 13 points in the first quarter as the Titans leapt to a 22-6 lead.

CAMAS 77, AUBURN RIVERSIDE 38 — Baylie Farra scored 18 points and went 4 for 4 from 3-point range in the first quarter of a non-league road win.

Farra helped Camas sprint to a 23-3 lead in the first quarter.

Sophie Buzzard had 16 points and 11 rebounds while Keirra Thompson had 13 points and 14 assists.

JESUIT (Ore.) 57, MOUNTAIN VIEW 49 — Jadlyn Senderson scored 14 points but the Thunder couldn’t keep up wit Jesuit in a non-league home loss.

The Class 6A team from Oregon pulled away after the game entered the fourth quarter tied 43-43.
