ATLANTA — “Megalopolis,” Francis Ford Coppola’s big budget dystopian thriller shot in metro Atlanta, was nominated for six Razzies, the facetious opposite of the Oscars that highlights the worst films and actors of the year.
Only the panned musical “Joker: Folie à Deux,” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, received more nominations at seven.
“Megalopolis” tied “Borderlands,” “Madame Web” and “Reagan” with six nominations each.
The results came from 1,202 Razzie members including movie buffs, film critics and journalists from 49 states and about two dozen foreign countries who chose five top contenders in each of nine categories.
The “winners” will be revealed March 1, the day before the Oscars.
“Megalopolis,” with a reported budget of $120 million, was funded entirely by Coppola himself after major studios declined the project.
