A pedestrian was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday night on Mill Plain Boulevard in east Vancouver.

The crash happened about 7:15 p.m. According to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department, a driver hit a pedestrian near the intersection with Southeast 117th Avenue.

The driver was headed east on Mill Plain, in the far left lane, when he struck a pedestrian crossing mid-block about 10 feet from the nearest crosswalk against the walk symbol, according to police.

The driver, who police say showed no signs of impairment, remained on the scene after the crash.

This is the fourth serious injury or fatality in 2025 involving a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Clark County.

A Woodland man is now charged with hit-and-run resulting in death after police say the woman he struck Jan. 11 in Battle Ground died almost two weeks later in the hospital.

A pedestrian was seriously injured when they were hit by a car Jan. 22 in Minnehaha. Not even 24 hours earlier, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Vancouver Mall Drive.

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the most recent crash.
