Jazz hands

Clark College will host the 61st Annual Clark College Jazz Festival today through Saturday in the Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. Admission is $10 per day. Clark College students and children younger than 12 accompanied by an adult are free. Sixty middle and high school jazz ensembles from Washington and Oregon will perform with trophies going to the top three ensembles. Clark College Jazz Bands will perform at 4:40 and 8:30 p.m. today, 7:45 p.m. Friday and 12:20 p.m. Saturday. Get more details by calling 360-992-2662 or emailing sjwilliams@clark.edu.

Music matters

Brickhouse Bar and Grill, Ronald Records and local band Midnight Morning will host a benefit show at 6 p.m. Friday to support MusiCares, a nonprofit organization helping displaced musicians who have lost their instruments in the California wildfires. Twenty-two artists and bands will perform on three stages at 109 W. 15th St., Vancouver. There will be a silent auction and donation opportunities. The event will operate on a pay-what-you-want donation basis, with proceeds going directly to MusiCares. Learn more at vancouverbrickhouse.com.

Happy feet

Dance 5.0 is an all-ages, alcohol-free, community dance party kicking off at 6 p.m. Friday at the Jack, Will and Rob Center, 2033 N.E. Ione St., Camas. The family-friendly evening features DJ Melvin leading a dance journey through the decades. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Adult admission is $10; children are $5. A portion of sales will be donated to a local charity. Get tickets at dance-50.com.

Sip and savor

Valo Cellars will host a wine dinner from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at 671 W. Columbia Way, Vancouver. Diners will savor a three-course meal with dessert while learning about the wine paired with each course. The first course is beet, orange, almond and goat cheese; the second course is crab and pea risotto; the third course is pork and sherry cassoulet; and dessert is a brown butter-macadamia nut tart and pineapple sorbet. The cost is $95. Get tickets at drink@valocellars.com.
