Clark County’s infant, toddler and preschool populations are dipping, but some areas are home to more youngsters than others.

Clark County had 28,223 kids younger than age 5 in 2023, down from 29,387 in 2018, according to census data. That’s about a 4 percent decline.

Yacolt, Amboy, Ridgefield, Battle Ground and the Mount Vista area have the largest percentage of children younger than 5 compared to other areas of the county, according to 2022 census data, the most recent available by area.
