RICHLAND — Here’s the thing about Mustangs. They like to run.
Prosser broke loose to score the first 22 points of the fourth quarter as the Mustangs ran away from Ridgefield 83-57 in a Class 2A boys basketball state opening round game Saturday at Richland High School.
The loss ended the Spudders’ season at 15-9.
But the lopsided final score obscured the fact that this was a close battle for three quarters.
Prosser came out hot, knocking down five 3-pointers in the first quarter to take a 28-9 lead.
But the Spudders used some defensive energy to create transition baskets that rallied them to within one point of Pasco in the second quarter.
