Washington State Patrol traffic stop leads to huge marijuana bust in Clark County

Two New York men booked and released; drugs estimated to be worth up to $900,000

During a Clark County traffic stop late last month, Washington State Patrol troopers arrested two men from New York transporting large amounts of marijuana and ketamine worth as much as $900,000, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.

The men were headed south on Interstate 5 to central California from Washington.

Troopers saw a red Dodge Hornet speeding at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27 on I-5 near Milepost 6, according to the news release.

Troopers pulled over the vehicle, saw two large black trash bags in the back seat and noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the State Patrol.

Both men were placed under arrest after being questioned by troopers.

In the back seat and trunk, troopers found black bags containing approximately 160 pounds of marijuana and 11 grams of ketamine powder, according to the news release.

Wei Ping Wu, 33, and Yin Lo, 37, are facing charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, as well as possession of ketamine with intent to deliver.

They were booked into the Clark County Jail and have both been released on bail.
