On Feb. 18, the Battle Ground City Council unanimously approved changing the name of the city community center at 912 E. Main St.
It is now the Battle Ground Event Center.
“The city believes that the name ‘Battle Ground Event Center’ is more consistent with the present use of the facility,” Deputy City Manager Rob Ferrier said. The facility hosted 575 private event rentals in 2024, according to a statement from the city.
The facility opened in 2008. It has three indoor event spaces, including a 3,600-square-foot reception hall, and a covered outdoor patio. It regularly hosts private meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings and parties; long-term rentals, including Sunday church services, Lewis River Rotary Club meetings and monthly senior luncheons; and it offers regular public programming like yoga classes, day camps and annual events like Halloween Fright Night and the city’s holiday tree lighting.
Plans to update the facility signage to reflect the name change are underway. Learn more about booking the Battle Ground Event Center at www.cityofbg.org/BGEventCenter.
