Owen Hewett went 3 for 4 including a walk-off single in the in the bottom of the seventh as Hudson’s Bay beat King’s Way Christian 7-6 on Tuesday at Propstra Stadium.
Hewett’s walk-off came after King’s Way tied the game with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the seventh.
Trailing 5-2, Hudson’s Bay scored five runs in the fifth inning without the ball leaving the infield. The Eagles drew four walks and had a bunt single by Juda Benson.
Mark Morris holds on in softball opener
Paisley Fraidenberg and Shyanne Sellers each went 3 for 4 as Mark Morris held on for an 11-9 season-opening win at Heritage.
Makaila Warfield hit an RBI double as the Monarchs scored three runs in the top of the seventh to lead 11-5. But Heritage rallied and brought the potential winning run to the plate after Veronica Ayala’s RBI single with two outs.
Jaila Ellis hit a two-run home run and pitched three scoreless innings for Heritage.
Griffith, Patel throw combined no-hitter for Skyview baseball
Jacob Griffith and Isaac Patel combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Skyview baseball team opened the season with a 10-0 win over Kalama.
Griffith struck out six over four innings.
Micah Robison went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Jack Morey was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Jase Wong added a three-run triple for the Storm.
