The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s scholarship program applications are open until April 30.

Applicants can visit www.cfsww.org/scholarships to access an eligibility quiz and submit one application for scholarships applicable to them.

Last year, nearly $1.2 million was awarded to 423 students pursuing postsecondary education. The foundation’s 75 scholarship funds support students in undergraduate, graduate, technical and trade programs.

Some scholarships are tailored toward students from certain high schools and colleges or who are studying specific fields, such as architecture, firefighting, teaching and nursing. Other scholarships are offered to students who face barriers to education, such as foster care, domestic violence, incarceration, homelessness or living with a disability, according to the foundation’s news release.

The foundation also works with donors to support students, especially those considered low-income, first-generation, underrepresented or nontraditional, according to the news release.

The program has expanded the number of scholarships by 33 percent and has a 56 percent increase in the overall distributed funds.
