Vancouver City Councilor Ty Stober has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Association of Washington Cities. Stober was appointed to represent District 5, comprised of the 26 cities and towns in Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis and Skamania counties.

Stober has served on the Vancouver council since 2016, including as mayor pro tem in 2022-23. He holds the association’s Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership and has been active in association leadership roles since 2018. He has served on the Legislative Priorities Committee, Statement of Policy Committee and Housing Task Force, among other roles.


The Building Industry Association of Clark County has appointed Noelle Lovern as its new executive officer. Lovern brings experience in government affairs, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications and industry advocacy to the position.

Lovern joined the association in May 2022, leveraging her background in government affairs and public relations to advocate for housing policies that keep homeownership within reach for working-class households.


Tidewater recently announced the appointment of Chris Mack as the company’s new vice president of marine operations. With a background in maritime transportation and operations, Mack brings more than two decades of industry experience to the Tidewater team.

Mack earned his bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation from the California Maritime Academy and received his master’s of Marine Transportation and Engineering Management from California State University Maritime Academy in 2023.

He began his career as an Able Seaman, progressing to the role of captain within the Ocean Towing Fleet. Mack has held various shoreside positions including Foss Maritime chief operating officer, where he oversaw comprehensive marine operations.
