After scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh, Mountain View softball walked off with a 16-15 win over Hockinson in eight innings on Wednesday.
Emily Palomino’s one-out single drove in Izzy West with the winning run as both teams combined for 27 hits.
Palomino also had an RBI single in the seventh as the Thunder rallied from 15-11 down. Gracie Single then followed with a two-out RBI single before she scored the tying run.
Palomino hit a three-run home run in the first to start a day that saw her go 4 for 5 with six RBI. West also homered and Laila Reive went 3 for 6 with three RBI.
Hockinson took a 12-11 lead in the sixth inning on Gracie Garden’s RBI double.
Maggie Ritton went 4 for 6 with a triple, a double and two RBI for Hockinson. Renee Waddle went 3 for 6 with four runs scored.
Battle Ground baseball rallies for win
James Gill III homered to lead off a three-run sixth inning to help Battle Ground top Hudson’s Bay 9-5 at Propstra Stadium.
Hudson’s Bay jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning behind RBI singles from Tanner Koford and Eliezer Castro.
But Battle Ground piled up runs thanks in part to 16 walks issued by Hudson’s Bay pitchers.
Axel Massie pitched three perfect innings in relief, striking out four and allowing the Tigers protect their lead.

- Hayden Wiest, Camas softball, went 2 for 2 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in a 9-7 loss to Olympia.
- Derek Tarnoski, King’s Way Christian baseball, pitched five no-hit innings, striking out 12 and walking two, in a 18-0 win over Kalama. He also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, three RBI and four runs scored.
- JP Guzman, Columbia River boys soccer, had one goal and two assists in a 8-0 win over Woodland.
- Oscar Jesus Osorto, Evergreen boys soccer, converted two penalty kicks, including the game-winning goal, in a 4-3 victory over Battle Ground.
- Ethan Wilson, La Center boys soccer, scored the eventual winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Fort Vancouver.
- Grant Platta, Ridgefield boys soccer, scored two goals in a 6-2 win over Mark Morris.
- Lucas Angelbeck, Skyview boys soccer, had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Mountain View.
- Alonzo Flores, Hockinson boys soccer, had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Washougal.
