The city of Vancouver will begin to pave and preserve streets across 20 neighborhoods this summer.

The streets include portions of Main Street, Northeast Andresen Road, Southeast Evergreen Highway and sections on both west and Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard, according to a Tuesday news release from the city of Vancouver.

The city will also work on residential streets with poor pavement conditions within the Rose Village, Vancouver Heights and Oakbrook neighborhoods. Fifty curb ramps in the Rose Village neighborhood will be upgraded to enhance pedestrian access, and curb entrances at 26 alleys will also be improved.

In preparation for the coming work, street tree and vegetation pruning along identified streets has begun and will continue through June. During pavement work, drivers in Vancouver should expect delays and street closures. Surrounding businesses and residents will receive notices about work hours, parking restrictions and closures throughout construction, according to the city.

The city will notify the community when work is scheduled for their neighborhood. View schedule updates at www.cityofvancouver.us/government/department/public-works/pavement-management.
