Both teams scored in the first half with Ridgefield’s Simone Ambrosini getting a goal assisted by Zeke Adams.

After a scoreless second half and overtime, Ridgefield prevailed in the penalty kick shootout 4-2.

After placing fifth in the 2A Greater St. Helens League, the Spudders are into the double-elimination district tournament and face 2A GSHL champ Columbia River at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Columbia River sophomore Jenny Serebriakova won her first 2A Greater St. Helens League girls tennis singles title, beating Washougal junior Tessa Townsend 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday at Ridgefield High School.

The three games were the most Serebriakova, last year’s runner up, lost in her four matches at the tournament.
