Work continues on the Interstate 5 Bridge during the trunnion replacement project, seen from the outdoor seating area at Who Song & Larry's. Across the river at Jantzen Beach, restaurant owners say that business is down by roughly 50 percent because the bridge project is stopping patrons driving from Washington.

The Interstate 5 Bridge project isn’t affecting downtown Vancouver businesses much, but in Portland, it’s blocking Jantzen Beach restaurants and retail stores from much-needed revenue during the pandemic.
The WDFW has tentatively set a very generous razor clam schedule through December, and clammers enjoyed a rare September dig earlier in the month. Most clam diggers took nice limits of good-sized clams, a very good sign for the rest of the digs scheduled for this fall.

After a frustrating spring with no razor clam openers, things are really looking up for clamming aficionados.
