HILO, Hawaii (AP) — Big Island police have identified the victim of an apparent drowning as a 72-year-old Washington state man.

Sgt. Jeremie Evangelista says Clarence Bolt of Prosser died Wednesday in waters off Kealakekua Bay in South Kona.

Police learned Bolt had been snorkeling when he was found unresponsive in the water. He was taken by ambulance to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police don’t suspect foul play. They have classified the death as a coroner’s inquest, and have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
