How hard is it to schedule a state tournament that does not run some 3 hours behind schedule?

Sadly, it’s becoming all too frequent for Washington Interscholastic Activities Association tournaments. Basketball in the winter is a classic case. Now it’s volleyball.

The state volleyball tournament in Kennewick didn’t finish its Friday session until 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

Camas was supposed to play its final match Friday at approximately 8 p.m. In reality, it started at 10:51 p.m.

Wouldn’t it be simple enough to just allow more time in between matches?

Seems like college basketball season has snuck up on us again.

ESPN will be feeding us with marathon coverage Tuesday beginning at 7 a.m.

Embrace the November Madness.

It means that much … apparently.
