KENT, Wash. (AP) — The man accused of shooting his wife during a counseling session at a Federal Way church pleaded not guilty to a murder charge at his arraignment Thursday in King County Superior Court.

Prosecutors say 41-year-old Charles Parsons of Lakewood shot Carol Parsons five times on March 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church after she said she would not end a relationship with another man.

The couple had divorced. He wanted to reconcile. She did not.
