The Camas Performing Arts Series continues with the Magical Strings, who will be joined by the Raney Irish Dancers for a performance that blends Celtic music, storytelling and Irish dancing.

The concert is just one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include an eclectic exhibit at the North Bank Artists Gallery and the latest production from Cirque du Soleil.

Variety of works on display at downtown Vancouver art gallery

Three gallery member artists contributed to the latest exhibit at the North Bank Artists Gallery. Suzy Kitman will display still-life paintings that explore relationships and expectations through found objects, dolls and other toys; Kanaan Kanaan uses media that blends with ancient methods of communication by using symbols and script; and James Torson will showcase drawings and paintings inspired by the war in Afghanistan. The works are on display through May 1.

Expo brings together resources for seniors

The 50+ Connections Expo provides information, services and resources for active seniors. More than 140 exhibits will cover topics such as healthy living, volunteering, food, retirement communities and travel. In addition, health screenings and interactive activities will be offered.

Cirque du Soleil soars to new heights

Cirque du Soleil returns this weekend to Portland and unveils “Kooza.” The production follows Innocent, whose journey brings him into contact with a variety of comic characters such as the King, the Trickster, the Heimloss, the Obnoxious Tourist and the Bad Dog. “Kooza” blends acrobatic performance and the art of clowning.

When: Through May 16, with performances at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 1 and 5 p.m. Sundays.

There are no performances April 27; there is no 8 p.m. show May 13, and there is no 4 p.m. show Thursday or April 22.

Where: Under the Grand Chapiteau on Southwest Moody Avenue, south of the Marquam Bridge, Portland.

Admission: $45-$250; $31.50-$175 for children 2-12; and $40.50-$112.50 for students 13 and older with identification, seniors 65 and older and military members with identification.

Fey, Carell team up for ‘Date Night’

Tina Fey and Steve Carell star in “Date Night” as a husband-and-wife team who try to inject some excitement into their lives by going on a date at a trendy restaurant. Once there, a case of mistaken identity turns the evening upside down, leading to encounters with corrupt cops and a mob boss. Carell and Fey have received accolades for their comedic chops. Will “Date Night” be greater than the sum of its parts? The film is rated PG-13.
