MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have selected the contract of left-handed reliever Ron Mahay.
The move was made after Wednesday’s game.
Mahay signed with the Twins late in spring training and was pitching for Class A Fort Myers. He threw well for the Twins down the stretch last season after they signed him in late August.
The Twins wanted to add another lefty to the bullpen with Jose Mijares struggling to start the season. Rookie right-hander Alex Burnett was optioned to Triple-A Rochester to make room for Mahay.
