FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Rain has forced NASCAR to postpone its scheduled Sprint Cup and Nationwide doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway until Monday.

The Sprint Cup race was called Sunday about 75 minutes after its scheduled 3:16 p.m. EDT start because of persistent drizzle and an uncertain forecast the rest of the day. The race was rescheduled for 12 p.m. EDT Monday.

Wet weather Saturday forced the postponement of the Nationwide race then. It had been rescheduled for Sunday night after the Cup race. It will now be run after the Cup race Monday.

About 212 inches of rain fell at the track Saturday and Sunday. The forecast Monday calls for cloudy skies with only a minimal chance of rain.
