A school bus carrying 29 students from Amboy Middle School was struck from behind by a car Monday afternoon, according to Gregg Herrington, a spokesman with the Battle Ground Public Schools.

The bus had just left the school when the collision occurred, shortly after 3:20 p.m.

Six students reported knee, head or back pain and were examined by North Country Emergency Medical Service paramedics and a school nurse, according to Herrington.

Two students were transported to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. They were treated and released.

The bus was in a line of buses traveling west, adjacent to the campus, when it was struck. There was no damage to the bus, Herrington said.

The car sustained front-end damage; its driver was not injured.

Students not injured in the collision were transferred to another bus for the trip home.

The Washington State Patrol and Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded.
