NORTON, Mass. (AP) — The Deutsche Bank Championship is heading into the final year of its sponsorship deal and there’s no word yet on an extension.

Deutsche Bank Americas CEO Seth Waugh hopes to have an answer by this year’s tournament. That’s Labor Day weekend, the second round of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Waugh says the bank is pleased with its association with the PGA Tour. He says the bank has made up its mind, but it’s waiting for an answer from other people involved. He would not elaborate.

The bank has an option to extend the sponsorship deal for two more years, through 2012. Without a title sponsor, the TPC of Boston could lose its spot on the tour schedule.
