BOSTON (AP) — Boston first baseman Kevin Youkilis left Monday night’s game against Cleveland after the second inning with a jammed right thumb.

Youkilis lined to shortstop to end the first inning and grabbed his right hand in pain. Manager Terry Francona came out with a trainer before the second inning started, but Youkilis stayed in the game.

Before the Indians came to bat in the third, starting catcher Victor Martinez moved to first and Kevin Cash took over behind the plate.
