PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon Public Health officials say it’s once again safe to swim in Diamond Lake in the Umpqua National Forest.
A health advisory against swimming in the lake was issued July 15 because of high levels of blue-green algae. Health officials said Tuesday that water monitoring has confirmed reduced levels of the blue-green algae that can produce toxins harmful to people and animals.
Diamond Lake is about seven miles north of Crater Lake National Park on Oregon Highway 138.
A similar toxic algae warning for Lemolo Lake, north of Diamond Lake, was lifted Monday.
