ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — A Roseburg elementary school teacher has pleaded not guilty to charges he had child pornography on his home computer.
Steven Kenneth Derlacki entered the pleas Wednesday in Douglas County Circuit Court. He faces 40 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse.
The Roseburg News-Review reported that friends and family asked the judge to consider reducing his $400,000 bail so Derlacki could be released to the custody of his parents in Corvallis, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout growing up.
Derlacki has taught second and third grades at a school in Roseburg since 2006. He was arrested July 4 after police searched his home computer.
