CATHLAMET, Wash. (AP) — The town of Cathlamet, near the mouth of the Columbia River, is becoming a destination for longboard skateboarders.

Eighty-three longboarders whizzed down the Cathlamet hills Sunday in the second annual Cathlamet Downhill Corral. Last year’s competition had only 30 competitors.

The Daily News of Longview reports the event was a boost for stores and restaurants in the Wahkiakum County town.
