SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane police have arrested a 28-year-old driver after he fled from police and crashed his SUV in downtown Spokane.
KHQ-TV reports Patrick F. Valenzuela was arrested for driving under the influence and attempting to elude a police officer.
A woman told police that a man in a SUV stopped her on her way to work Sunday morning and offered her a ride. She declined. Once she got to work, the woman noticed the SUV circling the block and called police.
When police arrived to investigate, the driver took off. The police chase ended when the SUV crashed into two other vehicles and a fire hydrant.
