KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Nate Hutcheson and Mike Douglas each scored 14 points to lead Western Michigan to a 71-69 victory over Detroit on Wednesday night.

It marked a career high for Douglas and was the first time this season the Broncos (3-4) had five players scoring double digits.

Flenard Whitfield and Demetrius Ward each added 11 points for the Broncos while David Brown had 10.

Western Michigan led by as many as 12 points early in the second half, but the Titans (5-5) rolled back on 51.5 percent shooting in the period to tie it at 66-all with about two minutes to go.

Douglas, however, made a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer down the stretch ensure the win for the Broncos.

The Titans’ Ray McCallum led the game in scoring with 19 points while Chase Simon added 18 and LaMarcus Lowe had 12. Eli Holman finished with 14 rebounds.
