LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Sammy Yeager scored a career-high 22 points to help TCU to an 81-77 victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday night.

Ronnie Moss added 16 points for the Horned Frogs (7-3), who notched their first true road win after losing two games at a neutral-site tournament last month.

The Red Raiders (5-5) got 19 points from Mike Singletary and 16 from Brad Reese but dropped their first home game this season. They have lost four of their last five games since playing in the South Padre Island Invitational.

TCU had to overcome mistakes and use free throws to hold off a late comeback by the Red Raiders. The Horned Frogs led 75-64 but quickly saw that lead dissipate thanks to turnovers and Texas Tech’s full-court press.

Singletary had six points and a steal to bring Texas Tech within 78-77 with 22 seconds left, but the Red Raiders came no closer.
